Dashers Cornish Pasty
traditional but different
Pastry
The pastry doesn't have much salty umami taste. It's too thin and often breaks. You also dont get a thick crimp.
Filling
Everything is a bit too soft for my liking and I don't think there is much of it. It is a juicy pasty tho.
Flavour
Quite a lot of pepper
Freshness
Pasties start coming out of the oven at 8am. They close at 2pm but the last pasty comes out of the oven well before then.
Dashers are lots of people’s favourite pasty. They’re just note mine. I don’t like how thin they are and they break up too easily so they don’t travel well which I think is an important factor for ranking pasties.
I still eat Dashers pasties every now and then when I want something a bit different, but my preference is Warrens a little farther down the road especially if I’m getting the ferry over to Devon and want something for the journey as I can eat them without them falling apart in the car.
